December 2011 – Post Tour and the Shady Lady
I've only been back in London a week or so following months travelling around the UK with the END OF THE RAINBOW tour. I had an amazing time on the road and was even fortunate enough to be given a couple of opportunities to play Mickey Deans to Tracie Bennett's Judy Garland at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Tracie is taking this show to Broadway next year where it is bound to be as successful there as it has been here and I wish her the best of luck.
Next up for me is filming in December on the docu-feature SHADY LADY based on the story of the world's longest bombing mission of WWII produced by FACT NOT FICTION FILMS, an award winning British Independent film producer.
July 2011 – End of the Rainbow
It's been a busy couple of months in the lead up to the end of the school year. I've been working on a number of workshops for shows such as We Will Rock you and Blood Brothers as well as putting on a 'show in a week' with Seussical. This week I'm teaching the acting side of the Music Theatre Summer School at Arts Ed.
On top of that it's been a busy month for voiceovers. I have recorded a couple for corporate videos and another for a Canadian promo. Recently I found out that I'll be joining the tour of End of the Rainbow understudying the role of Mickey Deans. I didn't see this show when it was in the West End but having read the reviews (and seeing the 4 Olivier Award Nominations) I'm really looking forward to being involved!
May 2011 – Catch up
It's been a while since I've posted here but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. In January I began teaching the part time 'Acting for Stage' course at Arts Ed. I felt like Mr Kotter going back to his old school and it was great to have the opportunity to do more work with interested adults.
Recently though I've been updating all those necessary actors things, including a brand new website! If you have a look around you'll also see some new headshots and voicereel to listen to. I've also been renewing my love of the Actors Centre and have been doing some really great and inspiring classes.
On top of all that, I'm working on a couple of ideas for short films that I'm hoping to produce in the next few months, so stay tuned!
December 2010 – Old Commercials
Continuing to track down old work, I managed to find the Nokia commercial that I shot earlier in the year. It can be seen here.
November 2010 – Halogen Commercial
I've been trying to chase up a lot of my old commercials recently that I didn't have a copy of. So far I've found one of the Halogen Oven infomercials I shot back in 2007. Unfortunately though, I can't find the one I feature heavily in as a testimonial but you can see the 'blink and you miss it' one here.
September 2010 – Microsoft Commercial
Been back from Edinburgh for a few weeks now and have almost recovered! I found a copy of one of the Microsoft Commercials that I shot in July. You can view it here. (I'm upset they didn't use the shot of me actually PLAYING the piano accordion! See Gallery) While originally I shot two commercials, one for Germany and one for the US market, I've since been told that it is also showing in Canada and also cinemas in the US.
July 2010 – Tosca, Microsoft and Edinburgh
Last weekend was the last performance of TOSCA with the English National Opera. It's been a wonderful three months working on the show and lots of fun. I even managed to sneak my mug into the trailer which can be viewed here. Also last week I spent two days shooting a commercial for Microsoft which had me sitting in lederhosen playing the piano accordion! In between all that I've been cast in two shows going up to Edinburgh, so have been flat out in rehearsals trying to get them ready in time. I will be performing TWELFTH NIGHT and THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA with C-Theatre for the duration of the festival.
April 2010 – Photoshoot
Not long ago I worked on an art project with Maciej Markowicz. Mariej is an emerging photographer who was mentored by Nobby Clark and works with the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Have a look at some of the still photos from the shoot here.
March 2010 – Fosters Voiceover
I've recently been working with the advertising agency Fallon recording voiceovers for a marketing pitch they are doing for FOSTERS.
February 2010 – The Chairs
Just finished workshopping a physical theatre piece based on Eugene Ionesco’s THE CHAIRS with Green Frog Theatre which they plan to tour later in the year.
February 2010 – A New Website
I thought it was time to redo the website. I spend so much time updating other people's websites that my own personal one gets quite neglected! 2010 has been great so far. I have already shot a NOKIA commerical for Kemistry and have recently found out that I have been cast in TOSCA with the English National Opera starting in April and performing at the Coliseum. Roll on 2010!
